Overview: Ghost Commander is a file manager for the Android platform with two panels. Its development was inspired by famous (Norton|Midnight|Total) Commander desktop applications, so if you are familiar with those great software, you will find the Ghost Commander familiar and a very convenient environment.
Dual panel file manager (much like Norton Commander, Midnight Commander or Total Commander).
By using the Ghost Commander, you can:
-Browse the local file system. Navigate easily through the folders tree.
-Store the frequently navigated folders to the favorites list.
-Copy/move/delete/rename files and folder, create new folders
-Launch a file with an appropriate application (for example launch an .apk file to install an application)
-Open a text file for editing, create new text files
-Open a zip archive as a folder - copy (extract) files from a zip archive,
-Create a new zip archive, add new files to existed one, delete files in an archive
-Search files by a name mask on the local filesystem
-Calculate the occupied size of files and folders, have the folder sorted by size
-Open a FTP site, download/upload files and folders
-Open a windows network shared folder (Samba protocol). Copy files/folders to and from. (with a plug-in)
-Customize looks and feels - turn on/off the file icons, manage the rows sizes, bg and fg colors, tool buttons, etc.
-Work in the root: mode to the file system on a "rooted" devices and do the following:
-Change file permissions (chmod) for a file or folder
-Execute your own shell command
-Remount partitions
The Ghost Commander file manager features include but not limited to:
* multiselect (manual or by a wildcard)
* pictures thumbnails
* favorites
* calculation of the total size of the selected folders and files
* sorting - by file names, by extension, by size, by date
* search for files by file name (with wildcards)
* text editor (built-in or external)
* open a file with the appropriate application (install an .apk, show a picture or play a movie)
* send files via email or bluetooth
* many personalization settings, like: custom colors, custom interface language, custom toolbar set
* standard file manager features: create directory, create text file, delete files and folders, copy files and folders, FTP download, FTP
upload, ZIP creation and extraction, super user mode.
